Specs

• Tube: 304 stainless steel, 20-gauge for corrosion resistance and strength.
• Upgrade where it matters: 18-gauge tubing on all knurled finishes and all 48″ bars for extra rigidity.
• Flanges: 304 stainless, 15-gauge with multiple anchor points to suit various substrates.
• Covers: round 3″ escutcheons in 304 stainless (22/24-gauge) that snap on to conceal screws.

Sizing Notes

• Length is measured center-to-center between mounting flanges.
• For overall tip-to-tip, add 3″.

Compliance and load ratings depend on correct installation into suitable framing or rated anchors. Always follow local codes and manufacturer instructions.

Both 1¼″ and 1½″ are standard, code-accepted diameters for circular grab bars. ADA/TAS allow 1¼″–2″; either size can be compliant when installed correctly.

How they feel in the hand

• 1¼″ (slimmer grip): easier for smaller hands; sleek residential look.
• 1½″ (fuller grip): more surface contact; common commercial feel.

Strength & safety

Safety depends on proper installation/anchors—not diameter alone. ADA requires resistance to 250 lb at any point.

Clearance

Wall clearance is 1½″ regardless of diameter.

Cleaning instructions

Use a soft cloth with mild dish soap (or powdered detergent), ammonia, and warm water. Rinse with clear water, wipe with a damp sponge, and dry.

Smears & fingerprints

Arcal 20, Lac-O-Nu, Lumin Wash, O’Cedar Cream Polish, or Stainless Shine per package directions.

Avoid

• Abrasive powders or scouring pads
• Toilet bowl or ceramic tile cleaners
• Solutions with aggressive acids (e.g., Lime-A-Way, Soft Scrub, Tilex)

Prevent rust

• Avoid concentrated chlorine (e.g., urine spray).
• No bleach/chlorides or acidic cleaners.
• Avoid contact with carbon steel (e.g., steel wool) or iron-rich water.

Remove rust

1. Use Bon Ami or Ajax with a wet cotton cloth.
2. Rub with the grain until removed.
3. Rinse well and dry thoroughly.

Persistent stains: stainless steel wool + mild abrasive paste (with the grain); use stainless-safe pads, plastic, or wood tools if scraping.

• A grab bar is only as strong as its anchors and the wall behind it—use studs or rated anchors for your substrate.
• For ADA compliance where required, follow ADA/TAS §609 and local codes.
• Avoid harsh chemicals; clean with mild dish soap and water, then rinse and dry.

Eligible items may be returned within 30 days if new, unused, uninstalled, complete, and properly packed. Double-box the untouched manufacturer box. Non-returnable: installed/attempted installs, custom/final sale, missing parts/packaging.

• Restocking: 20% (waived if we shipped the wrong item).
• Shipping: original shipping non-refundable; return shipping customer-paid unless defective/damaged on arrival or our error.
• Process: email returns@steadybars.com for an RGA before shipping; ship within 14 days of RGA issuance.

Allow up to 5 business days for inspection; approved refunds post 3–5 business days after approval to the original payment method.

Who’s covered: original purchaser at the original installation address; proof of purchase required; non-transferable.

Product warranty (grab bar)

Defects in materials/workmanship under normal residential use—SteadyBars will replace at no charge with ground shipping prepaid in the continental U.S. Exclusions include wear, misuse, improper cleaning (bleach/chlorides, acids, steel wool), harsh environments, improper install, substrate movement, accidents/acts of God.

Installation guarantee (labor)

For SteadyBars installs, labor is guaranteed for as long as the original purchaser owns the residence at the original address; we’ll re-secure at no labor charge (no trip charge in our standard service area).

• Not covered: bars not installed by us; relocations; substrate/structural failures; overload/abuse; leaks not due to our work; cosmetic/finish repairs; access/restoration work.
• Commercial/institutional: 1-year installation guarantee.

Care & maintenance

Clean with mild dish soap and water; rinse and dry. Avoid bleach/chlorides, acidic cleaners, and steel wool.
